QUESTION - Are pressure cookers designed to be used in the microwave safe to use for canning foods?ANSWER - They are safe to use for simple cooking of foods. However, they should not be used for canning low acid foods because the actual pressure inside the cooker cannot be monitored. There is, therefore, the danger of underprocessing.
